Running Made Easy
A popular book and 10 weeks for a life challengeMess…
I have to delete the last ten days… over indulging, bread, stopped running…stopped updating the blog
Total lack of focused mind.
I suppose it can happen, but it is not nice. Moreover: this morning my blood pressure was skyrocketing, 98/143…
That’s it, let’s start again.
Fit-walking while fit-thinking
I made it. I went fit-walking for 30 mins this morning, I also tried to run for 60 secs to check my knee: perfect! The only thing is that I was very late, I went running at 8.55am
While fit-walking I thought that I do not have any more time to be lazy, I’ve been there, I’ve done that…I know the sweet taste of laziness and over-indulgence, but it is no more for me.
Time’s going fast and I have to take into account mistakes and odds, that’s why discipline and consistency have now to accompany my life on a regular basis. I do not have any other wise choice than this one.
I also thought that I have to stop to give mixed signals to my mind: yesterday I overindulged on carbs and coffes and little chocolates …it is not good at all, it’s mental training as well.
From now on my signals to my mind will be consistent. Mind like water. Focus. Consistency towards the goals. Not just words…
P.S. I must admit that I like fit-walking, the only problem is that my bottom hurts sooo much…my poor muscles
uhm….
I made a mess today….I went away for the day for work and had lots of coffees and carbs….plus a sarnie of cheese a few mins ago…11.30 pm…
What’s going on here? What does all this crap mean??? Tomorrow morning I’ll go fit-walking again!
Promised, done it!
Done it, even if a little bit later…
At 6.55am I was out of my house and I did 35 minutes of fit-walking: after 15 mins I had to rest for a minute or so, it’s quite difficult, but I enjoyed it! Going slow lets you concentrate on your core muscles and pay attention to the tecnique…Maybe I could suggest this to the authors of Running Made Easy: learning to walk or fast-walk is important before running…
I’m happy today. I want to get focused on my work today…big meeting at 2pm…come on Darren
After 14 days…
14 days have already passed since my personal commitment, in Week 1, Day 1
I promised you all a short update after the weekend. As you’ve seen Week 2 has seen a stop for running, after Week 2, Day 1 my left knee began to hurt badly, and I had to stop. During Week 2 I’ve basically only walked. During the weekend I had a walk on the mountain, my knee was fine but also on Week 3, Day 1 I just had a 30 mins brisk walk. Tomorrow, Week 3, Day 3, I want to try something different since I received by post the book my doc suggested me about fit-walking. By no means this implies that I’m leaving my Running Made Easy programme, I just have to be careful about my joints. I’ll be back into running when I’ll have my new trainers and when I’ll fell safe about my knee.
I have also a confession to make: a few minutes ago, after 14 days of good focus for food I let myself have 4 chocolate pieces and some biscuits with milk, at 11pm…I do not know what it means, I must say I’m very stressed for work and for my other goals, but I do not want to find excuses.
Get back into your highly focused state Darren!
Tomorrow morning I’ll be out of the house with my training clothes not later than 6.40 … It’s a promise…I’ll keep you posted…
left knee…
I did not go running today, I went to my yoga class though and had a gentle walk…but I did not go running: my left knee is stil hurting too much…I’m giving it a rest.
I’ll tell you more after the weekend…
Diet is going really well…I’m getting used not to overindulge with bread, actually it’s two weeks now since I had bread last time…nice isn’t it?
Byeee….
Week 2, Day 3 – Running
Ok, even if a little bit later than my promise of last night, at 6.55am this morning, a chilly morning, I was out for my programme: 5 mis of brisk walking and then 6 sessions of 60 secs running and 2 mins walking. It was not easy, at the end I was a little bit tired as well. But I made it. It’s getting cold, I’ve to think of better clothes for running…
I’m writing this post from my office and honestly my left knee and leg are hurting a bit, is it my shoes’ fault?Tomorrow I am going to buy my trainers…I can not wait any more.
…after the Hospital…
Wow…I was out of the hospital at 1pm, being there a long time…and 1hour spent with my great doctor. Lots of exams to do though: I’ve to monitor and check my blood pressure, my kidneys, I’ve to be REALLY careful with cholestherol and check it back in a month.
Not easy.
Last but not least: I’ve to buy a book about fitwalking… Running is not enough, apparently I’ve to pay attention also to my normal walking style. If I do that I’ll see great results on my heart and on my six-packs-to-be (at the moment jelly-belly abdominals…) I’ll let you know.
At the moment I’m tired and not willing to go running tomorrow morning. I need a public commitment, thank you for reading: tomorrow morning I AM GOING TO RUN at 6.45am the latest
See you…’nite
